The Traffic Availability Date (TAD) is the date the Bridge is completed and certified safe, ready and available for vehicular traffic.
This date would have triggered many conditions in the former Concession Agreement relating to payment of money by the GNWT to the DCBC for debt repayment, operating costs, etc. The end of the calendar year in which the 35th anniversary of the TAD occurs marks the end of the Concession Agreement and the transfer of ownership of the bridge to the GNWT.
